Conversation Heart Wreath

DSC_0015

I needed a little bit of Valentine’s cheer around here. We usually don’t do much to decorate, other than display the kids heart themed crafts.

But I thought it would be fun to try a candy wreath.

I took an 8 inch cake board and cut a circle from the inside with an Exacto knife.

Then I opened a bag of conversation hearts and heated up the glue gun. Before I started gluing I tied a pretty ribbon around the wreath. Then I glued on the hearts, no special tricks here-just glue and glue and glue some more. I did glue them saying down, because some of them were faded or off center.

When it was all done I found a home for it on the top of my crafty thing. I added a little vintage postage card I’ve had for a while, backed with ribbon.

There you have it. Easy and cute, and my teeth will thank me for gluing those hearts instead of eating them!

Sharing with Kimba and Kim today.
