Celebrating Freedom

The day started off with a community church service that was packed.  Then we promptly hustled over to our church’s parade float to get ready for some candy throwing.  Every year our church hands out water during our city’s parade, this year was a record 5000 bottles.  It’s super fun and a great way to make connections in our community.

This year is special because our city is turning 100.  Everyone showed up for the celebration today, decorated and all.

At home we chilled with family, and ate good food.  DSC_0157

Indoor s’mores?  Yes, when it’s too windy to use the fire pit the gas stove will get it done.

And what fourth of July day would be complete without fireworks and sparklers?  Nearly everyone agreed that it was the best way to end the day.  (However, one young Aida and one four legged wonder did not.)

What a day, full and fun.  We’re so grateful for our wonderful nation.
